Who we are
Following Jesus shapes the whole of our lives, not just Sundays.
Everything we do has an emphasis on encouraging and supporting one another in everyday living, as well as looking outward by serving the families in our local community.
We warmly welcome people of ALL ages, stages, and backgrounds. We are a church for the whole family and all of our activities (unless otherwise specified) are designed with the whole family in mind.
We are passionate about helping others to explore faith and connect with God.
Sunday worship and home groups are at the heart of our life together. We use a wide range of songs and hymns drawing on the best of old and new. Each service includes the reading of scripture and prayer. At the heart of our worship is God’s word, which helps us live out our faith in everyday life. Our Sunday services are held at 10.30am followed by refreshments.
An induction loop is in operation during all services.

Our Beliefs
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16; John 17:17) and as such the final authority for what we believe and how we live our life together.
We proclaim the crucified and risen Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Saviour of the world. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4 and the Gospel accounts)
We believe that God desires and invites everyone to know Him personally (John 3:16; Romans 6:23) and have eternal life.
The worship of God is at the heart of our life as a church, individually and as a community.
The preaching of God’s Word (the Bible) is a central part of our Sunday worship. (John 4:23-24; Romans 12:21; Colossians 3:16)
We practise believer’s baptism. Baptism is the occasion when we commit ourselves to Christ and to his church. It is normally by immersion in water and is a symbol of the believer’s resolve to die to self and to live for Christ. (Acts 2:37-39; Acts 8:12)
We believe the church is a local community of believers, who have committed themselves to Christ and to one another.
We come together in the Church Meeting to pray and discern God’s will for our life together. Under Christ, the Church Meeting seeks to determine and fulfil the church’s mission and ministry under the leading of the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the ‘priesthood of all believers’. Every member is gifted by God’s Spirit and has a role to play in the life of the church. In particular, every member is called to witness to the Good News of Jesus. (1 Peter 2:5; Hebrews 10:12-14)
Leadership
Rachel and Ryan Malyk came to Hathern Baptist with their five children in 2023 when Rachel was appointed minister. They are passionate about sharing the good news of the gospel with others, empowering families, and encouraging the local community.
